About an hour's drive from Canberra gets you to the Orroral Valley Tracking Station which used to be home to the radio telescopes that shared duties receiving signals from the Moon during the NASA moon mission programs.

There's ample parking at the old tracking station, but there is nothing left of any of the equipment except the old lunar laser ranger up on the ridge.

Follow the walking track from the car park called "Orroral Boulder Walk". It's quite steep in places but the track is in reasonable condition and is wide. At the top of the track you'll be greeted with spectacular views of the Orroral Valley.
